Spiffing y'all up, one typo at a time
I’m an editor AND a writer, smart, sassy AND Southern, bold but not brazen. I love pretty things, good manners, baseball AND basketball.
Think of my blog, if you will, as quintessentially Southern and grammatically correct at the same time.
I am definitely not perfect. (Yeah, I just sent an email to 150+ people with the wrong use of “you’re.”) And I don’t edit the emails my friends send me. I am not a stickler or old-fashioned. I understand that language lives and evolves and I get the notion of artistic license. (Did ya see my logo?) But I know that if we don’t agree to the basics, then there’s just a mess. I ALSO know that “my’s” has never been a word, that “whom” still is a word and that “him and I” are not a good couple at all.
