The Grammar Belle

Spiffing y'all up, one typo at a time

A Year of Grammar Goodies (With Bonus Pop Quiz)

Hey, ya’ll!!

It’s my one-year anniversary of blogging and I’m so excited! I never would of imagined how much I’d enjoy writing about all my grammar, spelling, and punctuation peeves for y’all. From the time that I introduced you to TGB to today, it’s been quite a ride.

I’ve spent the last week ideating on what to write about to commemorate this one year mark. Everyday that I write for you guys is a joy. When I lay down each night, I reflect on how much I have been taken back by all your support and encouragement. I am so happy to be apart of your lives—all from my little keyboard in Dallas, Texas the best place in the world. So, what I want to say most is thank YOU for giving my little blog and I a bit of your time each week. I hope you have less typos, less misspelled words, and less errors then you did before you met me.

As I continue on my TGB journey, there’s some things I dream about:

More importantly, I want to ask that you continue to read AND SHARE the work of hard-working bloggers like myself. Seriously, take a peak at my blog roll for some amazing and inspiring sites. (I even literally die laughing at some of these blogs!) And I’d like to say the biggest thanks of all to my dear friend, Julie, over at Sow, Sew, So for the swift kick in the pants I needed to start this blog!

"I'm whipping up a nice chocolate soufflé for your anniversary, Grammar Belle. Enjoy!"

For an anniversary gift, I’d love it if you’d recommend me to all your friends. Hell, I could care less if you send your enemies too. As long as they can read, I like ‘em.

Love y’all mountains and tons,

TGB Sig

P.S.

Did you find all the errors in this post and score 100% on the pop quiz? I hope so!

P.P.S.

I tried to work in someplace that “I hope your car doesn’t get toad” but that was way too ridiculous even for this post.

Thanks so much, Fransi! I have so many sources from which to draw . . . and yet I can’t crank out more than one blog post a week. I’m not sure how you do it every day–and so well every day. Thank you, too, for inspiring me!

Happy Anniversary, Grammar Belle! Who knew that you’d accept my kick in the keister with such verbosity, grace, and humor? I did. Time to start your book! PS: You’re due for a cocktail recipe in an upcoming post. Maybe a champagne one to celebrate your year.

I had a very high executive one time use “I’s”. That is more than being possessive…. That is downright selfish. LOL
