The Grammar Belle

Spiffing y'all up, one typo at a time

Put me in, coach. (Don’t put me in coach. I prefer business class.)

Hey, y’all! Those of you who know me well know that I love baseball. Major League Baseball. And my nearest and dearest team is the Texas Rangers.

Today, in honor of their home opener of 2013 (against the evil LA Angels), I will use some baseball images to illustrate a commonly misspelled pair of homophones: “bobble” and “bauble.”

I really like when handsome gentlemen in baseball pants give me nice little baubles to wear.

It was delightful watching Josh Hamilton (dead to me) bobble the ball all over right field.

Josh (dead to me) brought this same catching skill to the Ballpark today. (Image courtesy of dallasnews.com.)

It’s baseball season, y’all!

P.S.

"Aw, Grammar Belle. Come on and love me again like you used to. Please." Not a chance, Josh (dead to me). Not a chance. (Image courtesy of dallasnews.com.)

I’m sure Josh Hamilton is devastated that you are no longer a fan.

My evil plan is working, OM! I want you to move back so we can meet in person and hang out and become best friends. Is that too much to ask? đŸ˜‰
