Hey, y’all. This is a friendly TGB reminder that in our fast-paced world, it’s important to slow down and make certain you mean what you say and say what you mean. Incorrect word choices may lead to confusion, embarrassment, or worse—unintended bathroom imagery.
In a recent business meeting, I heard “How much time do you need to flush out that concept?” Say what?
You FLUSH out bad things, such as toxins and waste. (I won’t go into any more detail. This is not that kind of blog.) You FLESH out ideas.
See, when you flesh something out, you have a skeleton of an idea. It’s just bare bones and you’re going to take it and add some “meat” to it. Make sense? Great. Please quit flushing all our good ideas out. We might need them someday.
Thomas always says he’s just “blowing smoke in my sails,” and my response is, “You’re this close, dear.” 😉
That’s funny! I’ll have to bust him the next time I see him.
