Spiffing y'all up, one typo at a time

WSWH: I blame Pinterest.

Hey, y’all! Happy 2014! I have to make this post a quick one, but I’ll get you a proper one to kick off the new year soon. I promise.

You may already know that I love me some Pinterest. While cruising around the site today, I discovered a recipe for a chocolate dessert that I wanted to pin. The description of it, however, referred to a large mammal found in many parts of Canada. Naturally, I immediately took to my blog.

In today’s short act of public service, I will share the images and proper spellings of three things. One elicits squeals of fear and panic. One elicits post-dinner squeals of joy. One elicits both kinds of squeals, depending up whether a fence/car/canyon separates you and said critter or not. I’ll let you decide which is which.

M-O-U-S-S-E (Yes, it rhymes with “moose,” but it’s something different altogether.)

Glad we could clear that up.

P.S.
Having trouble remembering how to spell them? Try this:
“OOOOOO! It’s a MOOSE!”
“I’m sure you (U) would scream if you (U) saw a mouse in the house.”

And you can remember to spell “mousse” correctly because it’s fancy and French and has all sorts of extra letters. (Weak, I know.)

As a Southerner, I’ve eaten squirrel, gator, frog and other sorts of unusual things. I have never, to my knowledge, eaten moose. Hmmmmm.

Yes, I definitely prefer my mousse without antlers or a tail :)
